TV

These freaking idiots- I've never even heard of this website. I suggest you dont buy anything from them.

So I turned on the tv tonight and a new show called Brothers and Sisters was on- starring Calista Flockhart(Ally McBeal) and Sally Feild(of lots of things including The Flying Nun, Smoky and the Bandit, and my personal favorite the voice of Sassy on homeward Bound I & II). So I didn't see the whole episode but from what I can tell its a drama about a big rich family and their hardships(unusual concept for tv I know, lol). So where I picked up the Mother( Sally Field) tells the whole family that she knows about the affair her husband had with a lady that was eating dinner with them and that she had known about it for 15 years. Of course everyone stopped eating and emotional chaos ensued.

So I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the show because frankly I cant pay attention to much of anything. So another place where I picked up on the show and what stuck out in my mind and the reason of me writing this is when a daughter(Calista Flockhart) is talking to her boyfriend. She tells her boyfriend that she has slept with another man(apparently someone close to them). So of course the boyfriend is upset and just kind of stares at her. So she says something like "In my defense- I was drunk! I had just found out about my fathers infidelity and he was there." Now this of course stood out in my mind. The fact that her "defense" was, "I was drunk". Apparently she has taken a page from the Mark Foley scandal. Just say "I was drunk" and that will clear your name. So her boyfriend shouldn't be mad- she was just upset so she decided to drown her sorrows with alcohol(always a good choice) and so then she needed some comforting from the trauma of hearing about her fathers infidelity so the way she find that comfort is of course by doing the thing that caused her trauma. Sleeping around on her significant other. Of course she was shocked when the boyfriend said they were finished. I was shocked as well- I mean why would someone want to break up with their girlfriend just because she handles emotional difficulties with alcohol and un-safe sex with a friend. Her boyfriend is just cruel and I hate him. These are just the kind of times a girl needs her man. Seriously what was he thinking.

Oh and while we are talking about tv shows. The new show Studio 60: On the Sunset Strip- one of the two shows about making Saturday Night Live on NBC this season(both with star studded casts). Studio 60 is made by the same people as The West Wing- one of the most popular and acclaimed shows ever. Well I have decided to take up a donation so that I can buy the writers and the entire cast of the show (the actual show not the show with-in the show, that makes sense right?) a large shipment of Midol.

The show revolves around a recovering coke addict and another writer who has problems of his own because he was chastised by conservatives because of a "brilliant and hilarious" skit he wrote about the Bush administration. So of course most of the dialogue is endless banter about how they are hated because of their "Liberal Morals" and how they hate the Bush administration. They just cant do anything all because they have drug problems and hate Bush. Sob Sob Sob. I had high hopes for the show just because of the people involved but was let down. I don't mind a liberal stance or point of view at all. Half of what I watch on tv is liberal- I like hearing at point of views opposite of mine. I do not like hearing whining about how hard it is to get paid millions to write a sketch comedy show and how hard life is when your a drug addict liberal. Half of the show is about how they have to attack the religious right and conservatives, and how they will stop at nothing to do so.

Quit whining and write funny television- thats why people watch Studio 60- so they can laugh.

Wow that was a lot of stuff I did not know I was going to write.
